Remington Baby carbine ( RARE ) in 44-40 Winchester caliber , serial number 202002 . This gun has a 18 inch barrel that has a carbine 2 leaf sight .The Left side of the frame is marked as follows " 44 CALIBER WINCHESTER 1873 ". The tang is marked " REMINGTON LIGHT SYSTEM ( BABY ) CARBINE " . The gun has a nickel finish with 80 % remaining on the barrel and 60 % remaining on the receiver with the balance of the metal being shiny . The fore end has some dings scratches a small crack repair and 75% of what may be a old refinish , the stock is not cracked or broken but shows dings , scratches and 855 of a old refinish . The gun appears to have been carried a lot in rough conditions which accounts for the wood being dinged up and the refinish .The gun is in excellent mechanical working order with some wear but not terrible .
